At Port Huron First, there are many opportunities to be active in the music ministry. Everyone is welcome to join, no experience necessary.
The Sanctuary Choir sings for the 9:30 a.m. service on Sunday mornings. They sing a variety of styles including traditional and modern Christian music. This joyous group loves raising their voices to praise God. They rehearse Thursday evenings at 7 p.m.
Instrumentalists are also welcome! If you play an instrument and would be interested in occasionally accompanying the choir, please contact our music director, Steve Grattan.
Two hand bell choirs, the Bells of Praise and the Glory Bells, are available to adults with varying musical background and experience. The Glory Bells accepts ringers who want to learn to play. The Bells of Praise play more advanced music for the more experienced ringer. The Glory Bells rehearse Wednesday evenings at 6 p.m. and the Bells of Praise meet at 7 p.m. Please contact our music director, Steve Grattan, for more information.
The Methodaires are a men's vocal ensemble with piano accompaniment that sing mostly traditional songs. They sing to the Lord in worship once a month at the 9:30 a.m. Sunday service. Please contact Tom Norager for more information.
All children participate once a month in music time during Sunday school by playing color-coded hand bells. On the fourth Sunday of the month they play as the Krystal Bells during the Children's Message at the 9:30 a.m. service. They always bring joy to the listeners!
