Missions and Outreach
Port Huron First hosts and supports many local, national and international events and projects throughout the year. The following are some of our events and projects.
Habitat for Humanity
Blue Water Habitat for Humanity is building homes in Port Huron First's neighborhood. Currently, volunteers work on Tuesdays and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please contact Susan Repp for more information or go to www.bwhabitat.org.
2019 Mission Trip
Port Huron First is organizing an adult mission trip in 2019. If you are interested in the selection and planning of the trip, please contact Bruce Hurd or the church office.
Mobile Food Pantries
Port Huron First and Lakeshore Presbyterian host mobile food pantries in our parking lot. The mobile pantry is a partnership with the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. Our next pantry will be in the spring of 2019.
Feed My Sheep
The Feed My Sheep outreach provides Sunday lunches at Port of Hopes in Port Huron. Volunteers prepare the bagged lunches after Sunday's 9:30 a.m. service. For more information, please contact Bruce Hurd.
Rally Day is in September when we kick off the new Sunday School year. Everyone is invited to join the games, food and fun.
CROP Walk for Hunger
CROP Walk is a community-wide event to raise funds to end hunger locally and around the world. The 2019 Port Huron walk will be October 6th. More information at www.crophungerwalk.org.
Trunk n Treat
We get together at Port Huron First on Halloween evening and hand out candy and a hot dog meal for the neighborhood children and their families.
Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign
Individuals, families and musical groups ring the bell and perform every year in the Birchwood Mall during December to raise funds for the Salvation Army. www.salvationarmyusa.org
The produce grown, at Port Huron First, is shared with the neighborhood. The garden is located east of the parking lot.
Outdoor Mini Food Pantry
Local Women's Life Chapter 803 installed a mini food pantry in the parking lot next to the garage. Everyone is encouraged to add non-perishable items for the neighbors.
Outdoor Mini Library
A local Eagle Scout candidate built the mini library and keeps it stocked with books. It is a great way to share a favorite book. It is located in the parking lot next to the garage and the mini food pantry.
